The Costa Daurada area will be the greatest pleasure for rally fans as well as for our courageous drivers, especially Sebastien Ogier! Fast, flowing and smooth Spanish asphalt roads designed for hard-working professionals are the true game that has more in common with circuit racing! This is the last of two final rounds of the 2021 World Rally Championship. Let’s take a quick look before the Rally Spain begins soon!
Last year, the Rally Spain withdrew from our seasonal trip in WRC calendar due to the coronavirus situation, but it is returning to make some noise near the Costa Daurada. Traditionally, Salou’s Port Aventura is already waiting for its guests with the hospitality of the seaside resort. So the opening ceremony begins on Thursday evening. Asphalt speed tests are not long in coming and add spice to the battle for the championship on Friday.
WRC Rally Spain, what is the plan for the route?
The route of the Rally Spain will be updated: some roads will be new, others will return to the route after many years. Friday will start very cheekily. The six stages add up to 112.02 km. Morning and afternoon runs through Vilaplana 20.00km, La Granadella 21.80km and Riba-roja 14.21km are divided by service in Salou. To pass all tests of Saturday with dignity, our rally drivers should stock up with encouraged!
The northeast of Salou at the weekend is the longest on Saturday with 117.54 km over seven stages! But at the end of the day, the sweet reward awaits the best. The favorite test by the sea in Salou over 2.24 km will finish the challenge.
The last battle on Sunday includes two stages from Santa Marina and Riudecanyes. The first pass from Santa Marina will be an additional challenge in the dark. The highest viewpoint will be the famous roundabout Coll de la Teixeta in Riudecanyes, where the riders complete a 360 degree doughnut in front of huge crowds on the slopes. You can’t imagine a better one!

The Rally Spain is a key, decisive round. The fate of the championship title can be decided this weekend, and the main contender for the title of the bravest – Sebastian Ogier. Although one has to wait for conclusions! Spanish asphalt is very moody and much can change. Another favorite here is Ott Tanak – the pride of the Hyundai Motorsport team. Another ace up their sleeve is Dani Sordo, a Spanish rally driver – the superstar in his home country. His victory is the happiest end of the weekend for all fans. But it is only in the plans. Whether it comes true – we will soon find out at the WRC Rally Spain 2021.
