Yes, you can! F1 quotes prove anything is possible

“I was taught that everything is attainable if you are prepared to give up, to sacrifice, to get it. Whatever you want to do, you can do it, if you want it badly enough, and I do believe that. I believe that if I wanted to run a mile is four minutes I could do it. I would have to give up everything else in my life, but I could run a mile in four minutes. If a man wanted to walk on water and was prepared to give up everything else in life, he could do that.”

 Sir Stirling Moss

“I believe in the ability of focusing strongly in something, then you are able to extract even more out of it. It’s been like this all my life, and it’s been only a question of improving it, and learning more and more and there is almost no end. As you go through you just keep finding more and more. It’s very interesting, it’s fascinating.”

Ayrton Senna

Sir Jackie Stewart to make the impossible possible..

Sir Jackie Stewart is one of the greatest drivers in the history of Formula 1. He is equipped with exaggerated wisdom, fast, careful, with a great racing reaction and a feel for the racecar. Steward’s thoughts are contained in the best of F1 quotes of all time. Famous driver had made the unbelievable in the past. In 1986, on the toughest track at the Nürburgring, with absolute invisibility and torrential rain, he achieved something that nobody dared to do.

Nürburgring 1968

German Grand Prix 1968

At a time when safety was not a priority and the drivers had no right to refuse the start, every Grand Prix ended in an accident. Every race was like Russian roulette and nobody was sure that they would finish.

In 1968, the greatest two-time Formula 1 champion Jim Clark died in Hockenheim. His Lotus 48 flew off the track, crashed into a tree and broke into three parts. Every four weeks, one of the drivers died after the accident with Clark. Rouen Jo Schlesser crashed in France, his car was on fire.

The German Grand Prix was scheduled for August 4th, 1968 at the Nürburgring. Besides the lack of visibility due to fog, the rain caused streams of water on the track. The start was postponed and the conditions were so bad that Jackie Stewart doubted the start. However, his boss Ken Tyrrell literally ordered him to drive.

No matter what..

Despite Hill’s best efforts with Amon, Rindt and Gurney, Stewart’s lead at the end of lap two was 34 seconds. In addition to the difficult conditions, Jackie had to contend with a “jamming” accelerator and a drop in oil pressure mid-race as debris got into the engine after other drivers had pulled away. On lap 10, he blocked the wheels and the car flew straight into Marshall, who was able to jump for cover at the last moment, but nothing could stop him. Jackie Stewart crossed the line and won in these terrible conditions with a four minute lead!

Many years later Ken Tyrrell admitted with no small shame that it was the only time he had instructed Jackie to drive and that he had subsequently suffered psychologically and emotionally, fearing for Jackie’s safety for each of the 14 nerve-racking laps.

It is only those who have won with integrity and care, over an extended period of time, who have become universally regarded as successful”.

Had a bad day? Motivational F1 quotes.

“To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one’s ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone.”

Bruce McLaren

“I have one quote I very often read to myself, from a very good friend: ‘Forget the people around you now; remember the little boy who was racing in go-karts, what you were dreaming of and what he wanted to achieve one day and what was his goal. Race for him.’. I fell in love with the sport, I love racing. The amount of satisfaction I get just going around in a Formula 1 car makes me smile. So if it is a bad day then you tend to come out and say it’s horrible and you don’t enjoy. But if you had to pick between that and doing nothing, you would always pick that.”

Sebastian Vettel motivational story: Fall but rise again

A four-time Formula 1 Champion Sebastian Vettel knows better than anyone what it means to fall and rise. After his involvement with the Scuderia Ferrari in 2015-2020, it seemed that he was finally broken and his career was over. Media were full of headlines “It’s time to leave Formula 1”. But even when everyone had lost faith in him, he carried on and believed in himself. Sebastian Vettel is another famous F1 driver whose quotes make sense to anyone who knows the problems and needs motivation.

The German started his career in 2007 as a brilliant debutant at BMW Sauber and switched to the wheel of the Toro Rosso in 2008. Vettel’s first victory made him the youngest winner in Formula 1 history. Max Verstappen will later receive this award. Immediately, many racing fans fell in love with a German driver and did not like him at the same time. Sebastian Vettel’s championship began quickly – a year after he switched to Red Bull in 2009. His four world titles from 2010 to 2013 seemed to come too easily. So in 2015 the time came for change and new challenges. The German signed a contract with the Scuderia Ferrari team with which he dreamed of winning.

Scuderia Ferrari 2015-2020.

Against the backdrop of Mercedes dominance, Sebastian Vettel achieved the impossible – finishing 2-3 places and not losing sight of Lewis Hamilton. Always second in the standings, it was exhausting to compete with Mercedes. This was achieved by the German in the first four years when Kimi Raikkonen was his partner from 2015 to 2018. Charles Leclercs’ arrival and the unstable politics within the Scuderia Ferrari team strained all of Sebastian Vettel’s mental strength in 2019-2020.

The most unpleasant thing happened on Thursdays and Sundays during press conferences. It was a disaster and disappointment that made the German all alone. Leading journalists, commentators agreed that Sebastian Vettel’s time was over and the best thing he could do was to leave. Do you think he was listening to someone? No, never!

On the edge..

He could be out from the drivers’ line-up in 2021, but everyone in the Paddock knew that Sebastian would win if he had the chance. Aston Martin team owner Lawrence Stroll invited Vettel to join the team. The year started badly, he did not finish above 10th place in the first four Grand Prix until the Monaco race. The rumor that the champion had lost his form continued.

Nevertheless, he finished second on the sixth stage of the season – Baku GP! He gave Aston Martin its first podium for the Formula 1 team after a 61-year absence! Like a phoenix from the ashes, he smiled from the podium at all those who had lost faith in him.

Today Sebastian Vettel is one of the most respected opinions in the Formula One Paddock. Fans love and are proud of him, and it does not matter if he is in good or bad shape. The talent of the German driver is an undeniable fact, with which nobody now dares to argue.

“It’s correct that I’m a bad loser. Why should I lie? If I was good at losing I wouldn’t be in Formula 1. I think it’s more honest to act how you really feel than pretending to be the smiling boy who actually isn’t in the mood to smile” – Sebastian Vettel

“In racing there are always things you can learn, every single day. There is always space for improvement, and I think that applies to everything in life.”

Lewis Hamilton

“From success, you learn absolutely nothing. From failure and setbacks conclusions can be drawn. That goes for your private life as well as your career.” “Really, you should always discuss the defeats because you can learn much more from failure than from success.”

Niki Lauda

Niki started his Formula 1 career in 1974 with the Scuderia Ferrari, he had to sacrifice everything in order to go his own way, despite family, friends and money. The most serious incident at the Nürburgring in 1976 proved that Niki Lauda is different. Dangerous means nothing, because it was a disaster.

One week before the German Grand Prix, Austrian was the fastest at the Nürburgring. But on August 1, 1976, Lauda’s Ferrari came off the track in the second lap, crashed into an embankment, went up in flames and collided with Brett Lungers Ford. Niki was trapped in the rubble. It was too late, before the drivers pulled Lauda out of his car. His face caught fire, suffered severe burns to the head and breathed in hot toxic gases, which damaged body, lungs and blood. Although driver was immediately after the accident conscious and able to stand, he later fell into a coma.

Niki suffered large scars from the head burns and lost a large part of his right ear, as well as the hair on the right side of his head, his eyebrows and eyelids, but survived.

The greatest comeback.

The fire disfigured his face, the accident overshadowed his experience, but nothing could make Niki Lauda stop. Austrian came to the press conference in Monza with freshly bandaged burns. Only six weeks after the accident he finished fourth at the Italian Grand Prix!

During this time, he learned to become more disciplined and not pay attention to what others think of him, and calculated each step like a cold machine.

He was the most respected expert in motorsport, his statements were always heard in the paddock of Formula One. Niki Lauda’s best quotes became a golden legacy. Austrian was non-executive chairman of Mercedes AMG and won five titles with the team until he left the world in 2019. There is the opinion that Lauda played a key role in the team, he worked with the drivers and as a mentor to Lewis Hamilton. Later Toto Wolff says that Niki was the one with whom he could speak wisdom.

To this day, rumors and legends abound about Enzo Ferrari. His name is at the top of F1 quotes – the inspiration for all those who have chosen motorsport. Contrary to popular belief, Ferrari was not a great driver. He took part in about fifty races, of which he won only thirteen. He did not even have any technical or other education. Nevertheless, his name became synonymous with car racing and the pride of Italy!

Enzo Ferrari – to change history

Fate seemed to have already decided everything for Enzo Ferrari in 1898. His father owned a small workshop in the family house on the first floor. The childhood of one of the most extraordinary personalities spent under the clanking of hammers, oils and heavy grease. Little Enzo was to follow in his father’s footsteps and run the family business. This continued until the ten-year-old Enzo saw the victory of Felice Nazarro at the Circuito di Bologna in 1908. A spark was ignited in the future “Il Commendatore,” or as he preferred “l’Ingegnere.” Wait, do not think that Enzo Ferrari’s life was sublime and carefree.

A hard road with passion in the heart.

Enzo Ferrari quotes
Enzo Ferrari

The First World War destroyed his family: father Alfredo died of pneumonia and the older brother Dino died of typhoid fever in hospital. Enzo did not even finish school, but joined the Italian army. He said he could repair cars, and they sent him to the transport department, where he forged mules for a year. The privations raged on Enzo Ferrari. He was seriously ill with a flu pandemic, but somehow miraculously survived.

On his return, the father’s workshop collapsed, there were no orders. It was impossible to find a job. Italy was devastated by the war, the economy lay in ruins, thousands of unemployed people marched through the cities. Enzo Ferrari went to Turin hoping to get a job, with recommendations from his commander to FIAT, but failed. He had no education and was told directly that FIAT does not employ just anyone. Weakened after an illness, without work, money or education, Enzo sat on a bench in Valentino’s Park in Turin and cried desperately in the winter of 1918.

Enzo gathered all his strength into a fist and tried with every loose order. Gradually, he began to plunge into car racing. He knew what he loved and loved, which he did with merciless passion.

Becoming a legend

After a while, he got a job as a test driver, then moved to CMN racing. After gaining experience, he was offered to try racing.

On October 5, 1919, Enzo Ferrari made his sporting debut at the Parma – Bercheto circuit. He finished ninth. A year later, Enzo joined the Alfa Romeo team, albeit as a fourth driver. Shortly afterwards, in 1929, he founded his own racing team – the team with the proud name of Scuderia Ferrari. Thus begins the story of “Ferrari” – a great story that would not have happened without flow.

Enzo Ferrari created a veritable engineering empire that is still growing. His passion is still evident in the curves and shapes of every Ferrari car.
